Brent Hagenbuch, conservative Republican candidate for Texas Senate District 30, the seat being left vacant by the announced retirement of Senator Drew Springer, released the following statement:
“Since I first announced in late November, I have been humbled and amazed at the outpouring of support. We have built an organization and established a beachhead in each of the 11 counties.
“We faced tough competition in Mr. Yarbrough, Dr. de Moor, and Mr. Clark. But those who know me know I am a competitor. As a collegiate athlete and as a naval officer, I have trained and prepared for battle.
“My training at the US Naval Academy and as a decorated officer and company commander in the Seabees, I am equipped to build and to fight.
“We have built an organization, and I will fight every day between now and May 28 to win.
“I have served my nation in the US Navy, served my community in business and as a volunteer, served my Party as a Precinct Chair and County Party Chair. I am ready and prepared to serve this District in the Texas Senate.”
